Signs Your Child May Be Ready to Be Potty Trained

If you are like many parents after some time using diapers you are ready for your child to begin using the bathroom on their own. But how do you know if your child is actually ready to begin using the bathroom on their own? Here are some signs that they may be ready.
If your child has begun telling you about their bodily functions that is good sign that they might be ready for potty training. If you are being told by your child either before, during or after they go to the bathroom you might want to begin their potty training.
If your child has begun to mimic you as you are going to the restroom. They could be sitting on the potty chair as you are going to the bathroom or they could be asking you to sit on the big toilet. Even if they jump off right away it is good to let them practice getting more comfortable sitting on the toilet so that they will be ready to start going to the bathroom on their own.
If your child has started to ask you for a diaper change that could very well be a sign that they are ready to be potty trained. Again, they could ask you before, during or after going to the bathroom to have their diaper changed but being aware of their bodily functions is a very good sign that they are ready to be using the bathroom on their own.
You need to be careful when picking up on these signs as you do not want to start training your child to use the restroom on their own if they are truly not ready as that can really end up causing unwanted problems. Your child will know when they are truly ready which will make things much easier for you.
