Every couple years, two of the biggest pop stars in the world will team up for a song that somehow manages to be both iconic and forgettable. The latest pair to carry on the tradition are Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé.
After teasing a remix of his song “Perfect” on Instagram Thursday, a duet version featuring Beyoncé dropped Friday morning. The original song debuted on Sheeran’s third album “Divide,” which landed him two Grammy nominations this year. The new Beyoncé version changes the gender pronouns on the second verse, and then the queen gets in on the fun of singing about soulmates too:
And as Variety points out, this marks the third time Sheeran and Knowles have teamed up musically. In 2015, they performed a tribute to Stevie Wonder at “Songs in the Key of Life — An All-Star Salute,” and later that year sang a rendition of “Drunk in Love” at Global Citizen Festival.
