Tips for Bathing Your Infant Safely

Bath time when it comes to bathing your infant should be a fun time for both you are your child. Unfortunately, there are many things that you want to avoid doing during bath time to make it as safe as possible. Here are a few things to keep in mind to make bath time both fun and safe for your infant.
You will first want to undress your infant and clean your infant’s diaper area from front to back in order to make sure that they are clean before being set in the bath water. It is incredibly important not to leave your infant in the bath tub alone for any reason as that could put them in a great deal of danger.
You want to make sure that you are choosing bath products that are made specifically for infants. This way you will not be selecting bath products that will cause harm to your child should they get into their eyes or mouth. You will want to choose a bath product like baby shampoo with a Ph of at least 7 to avoid this.
Many parents question how long they should spend bathing their infant. As a rule of thumb, you should spend no more than five minutes bathing your infant so you do not risk having your child in water that is too cold for them which could run the risk of harming them. You need to be sure that the bath water is always at the appropriate temperature when bathing your infant.
Bath time with your infant should be a great deal of fun so you should do things like play with or sign to your child as you bath them. By following the steps needed to safely bath your infant you will make this time more pleasant for the both of you.
